| Just north of Indianapolis, Indiana lies Kokomo, the "city of firsts." And just outside of its city limits is Wildcat Creek Golf Course, the foremost golfing experience in the area. Named after the rippling creek that winds through the back nine and comes into play on six different holes, this highly acclaimed course offers a stimulating challenge to the avid golfer as well as a scenic stroll through the beautiful layout of forest, lakes and creek. |
 | The first nine opened in 1995, which was designed by Jerry Matthews. The back nine opened two years later. Both offer a series of challenging holes, but the back, designed by master craftsman Jim Fazio, is especially noteworthy.
Elevated tees, undulating greens, and shots over water combine to make the nine especially memorable, with players coming back time and again to try and master it.
The 6,882 yard par-72 layout features bent grass fairways and large, smooth greens, with sand, rock and marsh jutting onto the course to offer significant hazards. Five lakes, primarily on the front nine, team up with the creek to bring water into play on 12 different holes.
The signature hole is the par-3 seventh, an elevated tee and green making it the prettiest hole on the nine. The back features a number of sensational holes, including the 411-yard par-4 12th, in which the creek must be crossed twice before reaching the huge slick green, the most difficult on the course.
Besides being remarkably scenic and a true test of golf, Wildcat Creek is incredibly affordable, with 18 holes including cart only $45 on weekends and $40 on weekdays. So come on out and enjoy this breathtaking course, called "one of central Indiana's best kept secrets" by one satisfied golfer and praised by many others.
